Are comments important – Oh Yes

I would like to try and bring some new ideas and new concepts to the adult seo industry, mostly stuff that is unique or hard to find on the internet

So my first bit of seo advice is all about comments! sometimes known as “reviews” and how to use comments to your advantage. I am not really going to get into whether these ideas are whitehat or blackhat or a mixture of both, i will simply put these ideas on the table and you can decide if they are ethical for you

Commenting is useful in seo because by adding comments you will receive the following results which you may find useful….

1. Adding a comment can pass pagerank to your site

2. Adding comments gives credence to your post

3. Adding comments make that post or site look popular

4. Most people look for reviews or comments before buying a product for confirmation that the product is accurately described and worth buying

5. Comments can increase the position of your business or article in google local results and local business directories

6. If people post comments on your blog then you have will have received some free content that the spiders will crawl and index, bringing you additional traffic

Have a look at google maps

Type in any business term “seo” for example and you will find that the local business listing results are assisted (have higher positions) because of three main factors 1. the business address in relation to the location searched or ip searched from 2. the title 3. amount of “reviews”

Try any search for any popular themes and you will find that the top listed ones will usually have reviews or “comments”

Pagerank goodness

The following site is a free business directory, the webpage has a pagerank of 4, notice that if you are listed on the second page for the same search you would get no pagerank, so if you added a comment or a “review” you would be listed on page one and some pagerank would pass to your site

This web2.0 property webpage has a pagerank of 4 if you add a comment to this page your “hubpages profile” will receive some of this pagerank this is then passed onto your own hubpages which should then pass juice on to any links (websites) that you are promoting through your hubpage

Tips to add comments

1. Get your friends and family to add comments to your sites, send them an email with a link so they don’t have to find it themselves

2. Buy a VPN service and add a free plugin to firefox called “BetterPrivacy”, this will then allow you to post more than one comment from your computer (most directories and popular websites will employ safeguards to prevent you from posting more than one comment)

Tips to increase comments on your blog

You usually don’t get anything for free these days so expecting your blog to be populated with loads of comments is kind of naive, you have to entice people to comment, use the following tricks

1. Install the “do follow” plugin for wordpress this removes the no follow attribute for links in the comments

2. Add the “top commentators widget” plugin for wordpress this will reward people who comment

3. Create a controversial post that people will want to comment on – something like “i love british petroleum – the mexico gulf is a large sea anyway” or maybe something stronger – blog posts that are total fallacies seem to attract massive quantities of comments

4. Pay someone to create the first comment for every post you make, nobody likes to create the first comment

5. Get fellow bloggers or friends to comment on your blog

Remember only a small percentage maybe 1% of people are likely to actually create a blog comment so you need at least 100 real visitors a day to receive 1 comment – build up the traffic and the comments will come if you follow the above seo advice
